DPF problems after emissions fix.

Featured Replies

I had the emissions fix by Skoda in November  2016. Since then the dpf warning light has lit up on several occasions resulting in 2 regenerations , new sensors etc. The problem is back and now I have dpf, motor and glow plug sensors all alight.

The problem has only been evident since the emissions fix. Has anyone else had the same problem? I think this could be the cause.

Given you've had the fix Skoda will cover these issues under an extension of the original warranty (up to 160000 miles).

I received a letter after "my fix" explaining Skoda UK would look favourably on any issues arising from the update.

I've remapped mine, so am no longer covered

Just realised you are outside the UK, so unsure if the same warranty extension applies. I understand VAG have taken a regional approach to this issue (offering compensation / buying back the cars in the US / updating cars elsewhere).

Thanks Pink Panther. It's back to Skoda tomorrow to sort out these problems!

Jonathan - we have two Yeti's in France - we keep receiving the "letters" but have not had the fix - I intend to keep it that way

We used the Skoda "authorised" service garage in Bergerac - they do not appear to sell new Skodas but the have all the signs etc., to indicate that they are authorised by Skoda ... I much prefer them to the far bigger dealer in Bordeaux

BillN_33, thanks for out comments.

I have just arrived back from Skoda main dealer in Perigeuex, having waited 3 weeks for an appointment!!

They did another diagnostic which disclosed a temperature sensor fault and miraculously the dpf is empty with no ash build up.

So its back to my local garage to find out what went wrong with the temp sensor they were supposed to have fitted in March this year!

Will update on progress!

IF the censor was the problem why not have it replaced  there and then to resolve the problem?     If that didn’t resolve the issue it’s probably down to the fix/fail and the dealer would have to resolve it .

Have now gone back to my local garage who was supposed to have replaced the sensor in January this year. He is ordering up a replacement as he agrees that this one must have been faulty. Will see what happens next.   It's taken 10 months of continuous problems for my local garage  & the Skoda dealer to finally fathom out the problem.   So much for modern state of the art diagnostics!

^ or dealer apathy!  -  but of course it is/they are in France!
