More help needed with ongoing airbag fault :(

Featured Replies

Hoping if anyone can help me a bit more. Fabia has had an airbag fault for some months.

Ive replaced the clock spring, and then after purchasing a fault code reader, I've put a new/second hand air bag/middle of the steering wheel in. (Can't remember the actual fault code, but it was something to do with resistance being to high, and the fix is to put a new air bag in).

Ive tried wiping the code off with my code reader, but it wouldn't do it. The local garage couldn't get the fault code to shift either, when they've had the car in prior to the new airbag.

whats the next move? Send the airbag ecu away to be cleared/reset/whatever the correct terminology is!

Just buy another airbag ECU, they're peanuts secondhand, just make sure you buy EXACTLY the same part number as they're all coded differently depending on how many airbags you have, seatbelt pretensioner igniters etc.
