How do I know it's a PD130?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of trading in my Fabia vrs for an Octavia (I could do with the extra room) But how can you tell if it's the PD130 TDi.I understand on Audis there's a badge in the boot stating the power in KW or something?

There's a badge under the boot carpet, plus it should say on the V5/log book :D

The badge in the car is repeated on the inside of the service book. Diddnt realise the power was given on there though.

Aside from any stickers inside the PD130 engined octavias should have a red D and I on the badge at the back , but more importantly they will have a six speed gearbox.

The 90 and 110 bhp versions only had the 5 speed.

The PD130 engine was only available in Elegance and L&K trim levels for most of it's lifespan (introduced mid 2003) , and a fairly limited run of Ambiente SE models from late 2004.

when looking at any vw/audi based cars that lable should be present if not walk away as it could have had a back end shunt

erm or it could have been debadged.

I think Iain is referring to the sticker under the boot carpet. :D

Chris

yes the one under the boot carpet that has all the build info on it.

this is stuck on at the factory and if it has had a smack up the back end will be lost in the repair

A similar sticker should be on the inside front cover of the car's Service Schedule (ie service record).

The Octavia 130PD engine code is ASZ. You should be able to see those letters stamped on the front LHS of the engine when viewed from the front of the car.

PS: It should also look remarkably like the engine in your Fabia since it is the same one. :D

But luckily Goochie pointed this out a day or so back

Good point ;)
