Mk2 v mk1

Recommended Posts

On a MK2 mapped Cave engine 2010-2012 you would be at 205 to 210bhp, (177 to 180 std) not sure what MK1 stage 1 BHP is, interesting to know though.

So far no one has mapped a CTHE engine 2012-2014 or at least there are no Dyno's on forum which is still a mystery cos someone must have had it done?

There was once a Dyno on here from the Mk2 Fabia vRS CTHE remapped by Eco-Tune Glasgow with a APR Stage 1.

A few members here have had CTHE with Blue Spark or TMC Tuning boxes producing over 205hp.

For acceleration differences over a 1/4 mile look at the threads in the Mk1 or Mk2 sections with 1/4 mile times,

or the Briskoda Santa Pod outing thread.

Or Sharkrider has Videos of a Mk2 Fabia vRS vs Modded Mk1 Fabia.

Stage 1 mk1 VRS is around 180bhp and nearly 300ft lb torque I belive! I have spoken to a fair few people at meets with the VRS mk1 and they say it beats a lot of cars out there and scares a lot of others too!

But its an old diesel so government might not like them soon. mk1's are cheap and easy to gain power out of and the mk2's risk of oil issues and chain issues but also very nice drive and good gearbox... so weigh up the pros and cons!
