Launch control

Featured Replies

I found I had launch control the other day by messing about in my 2018 sportline 190 dsg. Wasn't very good , took a 1000 miles off the tyres.

Why does the manual not mention this? Is there any good reason to use it. I found it quite difficult to manually change up on the stick.

Love the car , soo much tech ,

When approaching maximum speed (launch control function)
The launch control function is available in mode S or Tiptronic.
› Disable the TCS » page 221, Braking and stabilisation systems.
› START STOP deactivate » page 211, Manually disable / enable system.
› Fully depress and hold the brake pedal with your left foot.
› Fully depress the accelerator pedal with your right foot.
› Release the brake pedal - the vehicle is running at maximum acceleration.

i've used launch control plenty times when i had my MK2 Octavia vRS 2.0 TSi.

coupled with an APR Stg 2+ ECU tune, DSG perfomance tune, and a full APR 3" RSC exhaust, it was insanely fun, every single time!!!

best time i got was 5.9 secs to 100 km/h :)

i haven't tried it yet on my Superb.
soon........

as @Super280 posted - it is in the user manual.

Only time I had chance to try launch control was in an early 3.2 V6 DSG Quattro TT.  Only way to describe it was a momentary scrabble for grip, your head hits the headrest and the speedo hits 60 in not much longer than it takes to read this.

It was a demo car and our fleet manager didn't know about launch control so we went out to try it ;-)

Nice surprise in my Octy L&K this afternoon. It has Launch Control. Can't think when I'd ever need to use it but good to know it's there.
