Hello everyone - been reading all your threads as a guest the last 3 weeks. I must say it's been really informative as well as fun!

I pick up a new vrs tomorrow and I doubt I'm going to get much sleep tonite!:eek:

(Combination of excitement and a (temporarily) unhappy wife!:thumbdwn: ) I'm betting that she-who-must-be-obeyed is going to end up "borrowing" the carkeys way too often (must have something to do with her racing driver's license)

I'm going to follow the group's recommendations on running in the car (+also to get a chance to get used to the way it handles) before I start any mods at all (having said that I'm already looking hard at a dieselgeek short-shifter and a SEAT Brace- and I've ordered a TDI badge with the "DI" in green)

Currently I'm driving a GM Trailblazer jeep - too big, too heavy and a major "gas-guzzler". :thumbdwn:

It makes me really miss motorbiking so enter the Vrs - a MAJOR step forward!

(?closer to the fun of biking but supplied with a nice steel safety cage!)

I've had the Vrs for about a week now - IT IS AMAZING! Commuting to work has become such fun. I'm driving carefully (!) but it's amazing how much power is on tap below 3K rpm.

Yesterday, I overtook a poser in a new Merc 230 Kompressor and the look on her face was priceless! She was driving along initially with a smug superior look on her face enjoying her car's handling in a tight dual -carriageway turn and then the furby swept by effortlessly even tighter alongside her. Shock, disbelief. Love it! (I will grow up after another 40 years, I swear!!!)

i think that is what I am going to enjoy.

I would like to call it "Shock and AWW" as I drive past them.
