can i use wd40 on the window rubber?

Can't see how that would help. I would have thought it was a mechanical/electrical problem.

i read on here that it has helped a few people with sillicon spray but i only have wd40

Silicon is going to leave less of a mess (and not have the smell)

il have a look on ebay for one.

Can't see it doing any harm - bit pricey - they sell that exact one in the pound shop

You not had a garage check it out?

i didnt know that, cheers, il have a look around tomorrow.

i want to try fix it myself first then if all fails then il ask my garage.

Have you searched the forum? I've done a few posts about this before, not saying it's the answer to all your problems but I reckon it will explains all you need to know

could only find a couple of posts.

one of them requires me to take the rubber boot in the door hinges but i cant take them out.

the other solution is to take the driver side window switch out to have a look at the connectors, not had chance yet but other people are saying its really hard to take out.

update

i have tried pushing the passenger window switch up and down and i can here a clicking noise which means the switch does work? am i correct?

on the fuse box all i have is number 52 and there is no number 51, i thought there was 2 for both windows? very strange.

Windows can fail to raise/lower if they are covered in tree sap as it acts like glue so a good wash, taking care to gently prise the rubber away from the glass without distorting or splitting it. The most likely issue is gonna be broken wires in the door loom bellow area. Open door, the bellow should either prise off or have a little lever to lever off and pull back enough to take a good look at all the little wires. They are VERY prone to snapping!

i have fixed it now :)

all i did was take the handle off and pry the motor plug off and plugged it back on then it started working again. must be a dirty connector.

What have you done so far?

I have striped down the plug to the motor, cleaned it and also the connection on the motor,

i have crimped the u shaped connectors as directed on here in another post, I have even bought a new switch all not worked

i think I may have one last go at trying to   Get it going before I take it to the garage

i have not pulled back the rubber yet

sounds like there might be a cut wire somewhere

Wont rule it out but

when I take off the motor clean everthing and replace all

it works fine untill I lock the door

then it wont work once I try to open again
