Dual Sim Contacts - Android

Featured Replies

I've recently switched to an Android phone from a Windows Phone and  although it faster and has more apps one thing is driving me nuts - I can't seem to be able to assign a SIM to a contact. This is dead easy Windows 10 phone as it an option in Contacts. Android seems to have an option to set it to Ask First Time but it does seem to work that well. Its Android 6 btw.

Find settings > sim card

In there you can set to ask each time, then jump tick the box.

Downside is dialing a new number, say via voice dialing in the car will fail without selecting a sim.

There's also sim profile which when you run it is self explanatory to set up how you use the 2nd sim (ie work & personal).

For texting use chomp sms as you can pick a sim to use easily by holding the > at the end until the correct sim number is shown. It will then remember this.

To run 2 lots of WhatsApp for each line, use the app parallel space.

Basically no then, the SIM management is utter rubbish, they are all the methods I've already used. The Win 10 phone was really easy.

Work and personal profile is the best option.

Depending on the manufacturers you may have more options for sim control than stock options.
