Passenger door won't open

Featured Replies

So I've just tried unlocking my passenger door by double clicking the remote key and it sounds like it's a mechanical issue where something is jammed. Any temporary fix to at least get the door open before my mechanic has a look inside? Tried opening both handles inside and out together. No luck. Thanks...

hi

have you tried putting key in door and turn it instead of using the remote?

Unfortunately it's just remote operated! No key hole on 08 Fabia

mine is the 08 model too and i have the key for it. that is very strange.

on mine i have to click it 5 times for the passenger door to open. it wont let me open it by pressing twice too.

Ah sorry. I've just realised there's a key hole on the driver side -_- That didn't work. I'll try the same thing.

Nope. It just sounds weak when pushing the button. Goner have to take it to the garage.

Still won't work

Sounds like the locking mech has failed inside the door if thats even a thing...

Silly, but have you tried using the interior lock/unlock switch a few times, to see if that works or even disconnecting the battery. leaving it off for ten mins or so then fitting it back on to see if that kickstarts it?

Also, I know some VW cars had issue with the pin inside the lock, which snap and need a new one fitted. Fiddly but not hard and not expensive.
