Rear brake caliper question

Recommended Posts

Hello all. Apologies if it's already been covered, but is it possible to fit the front calipers on the rear wheels on a Fabia Vrs? The reason I ask is I have the 312 mm calipers to go on the front already but my rears need replacing . My front std calipers are fairly new and in good working order. Will they go on the rears or is it new rear calipers. Thanks in advance.

This is the deal-breaker, how did you think your handbrake worked, voodoo magic?

The voodoo magic module is only available in later models (well electric handbrakes may as well be!)

I thought all cars used a little voodoo magic to be honest. They are very good at conjuring money out of my wallet. I completely forgot about the handbrake sorry. That and I'm not mechanically minded.

Thanks John. I just thought I could make use of my old fronts. I forgot about the handbrake. My osr is sticking on quite a lot. I think it is goosed.

They can be freed up sometimes but it is not always successful .  I've known them fail on poorly serviced cars in a big way which has the heated things up sooo much the disk has changed colour and sometimes other things have been damaged (eg wheel bearing)

Order an Eezi bleed kit and a flexi brake hose clamp. Air can be difficult to purge from the ABS (without VCDS) but if you clamp the flexible brake hose pipe when you disconnect the caliper and connect the Eezi bleed before you release this (with bleed nipple open!) after re-fitting caliper.

In addition - check the condition of the flxible hose (no cracks!!)
