Cambelt and water pump price

Featured Replies

I've been quoted £450 to change the cambelt and waterpump on my 07 Octy Vrs.  is that good, bad or about right?

About right. You can check the Skoda prices for the work doing on their website although dealers may charge differently. If you state the official prices they will usually match it.

VW Main dealers here in Ireland do that job for between €375/€399.

Got a quote from a trusted independent local garage, £375.  Saved myself £75 with a phone call, I'll get them to do a couple of other small jobs while it's there.B)

sounds bout right.

sounds meg expensive to me - a decent independant mechnic should be able to save poss £200 off that price .

Hi, got receipt here from 2014 cost me £360 including VAT from local vag indi.

Cost me about £400 from the local Mr Clutch earlier this year - and I blagged a brake fluid change to be included at that price :)

Can't go wrong with that - you should let people know where to go for that price

PS: I agree with your Signature comment about BREXIT - but from which side of the Channel/L Manche (etc.) is that viewpoint (OTOH No - don't let's get into Politics on this subject!)

Just had mine done at my local VAG indy for £299 using genuine parts, paid the extra £15 for aux belt to be fitted at the same time.
