GT Legends, great

Featured Replies

I didn't like the Demo, but the full version is great.

Having only played it for a couple of hours, I've still only got the Mini and the Lotus Cortina (which I really like the 'feel' of). I'm looking forward to the Capri RS.

GT legends ?? Another Gran Turismo game I assume?

Forget the Capri, the Alfa is where its at. You can really mess with the settings to get it just right and really fly. The Pantera is the one to really aim for after that, but it is a right biatch to control!!

The Alfa GTA?

What's the score with credits? Do you have to win cups to get credits to buy cars? Would credits won at the easiest level count?

I went for the middle level without all of the arcade driver aids, but the other cars are quite quick, one mistake and I was down to the back of the field....

I used the simple car adjustments, I didn't bother with the advanced settings.

Yes, cups wins gets credits etc. Doesn't matter at what level. Any mistake can really cost you, which is part of the appeal for me, i.e. it isn't an arcade racer at all, you really have to work for it. After an eight lap race I am physically sweating my ******** off!!

Some of the adjustmenst really make a big difference, especially putting the brake balance to approx 60% front on the american muscle cars, altering the camber and steering lock also help a lot, and stiffening up the roll bars a touch. For the Alfa I have a mate who has played the game loads (on line in a clan no less) and he set it up for me with his settings.... Amazing!! trouble is I am at work so I can't tell you what they were :)

right, I'll try to win a few cups at beginner level to buy a faster car then.

I've just been looking up the Lotus Cortina. It's amazing how 'Fast Fords' have come on in 40 years! Lotus Cortina review from 1964. The racing ones were more powerful and lighter, but even so, the review makes the (similar to a 1.6 Focus straight-line performance) road version sound quite raw. I'd like to drive one though.

GT Legends is fantastic

As Dook says, the Alfa is great in the GT-65 class.

When you get to the GT-TC-76 class you get a massive amount of fun cars to drive :D My personal favourites are the BMW CSLs and the Porsche 914/6

Well, I've now got 20,000 credits -I should have the Alfa soon! That Capri shouldn't be too far off.

My Dad had a Lotus Cortina when I was born. Shortly after my mum made him sell it, dont think he has ever really forgiven me..lol

haha. Poor bloke.... If I can move to a house with a garage, a classic car is high on the list of prioritites.

Got GT Legends as well, a pretty good game but online is where it's at. Also got GTR done by the same peole, similar to GT Legends but with modern LeMans style race cars.

If there's enough people on here with we should set a room up for online play.

There is a thread in the tech shed section for GTR, although not many play it anymore, i think.

I've got both games too, they're great. I can host an online game of either for upto 7 drivers, gets a bit laggy with more (damn adsl and its 256k upload).

Suggest a night for some briskoda racing? (i can only make friday or saturday this week)

I can't manage either this week as I'm down at the girlfriends all weekend. Next weekend though. Problem I have with GTR is that online the only servers with anyone playing are the semi pro and simulation, and when you only have a gamepad trying to control a 600Bhp Viper with digital accelerator and brake is bloody difficult.

I've got GTR, but don't like it that much. My PC's grpahics card struggles a bit too.

I prefer 'Live For Speed' which is a downloaded game (www.liveforspeed.net), online it's great, especially the Rallycross circuits.

GT Legends has a sort-of realistic 'feel' which I like.

I've also got live for speed, but not played it for ages! (might have to dig it out, haven't got it loaded on my dedi-server machine either.........yet)

A steering wheel is a must have for these games, not that expensive really. I have the logitech driving force pro for the ps2, which works on the PC with drivers from www.wingmanteam.com

What graphics card do you have MC bodge? If it can cope with GTL it should be ok with GTR? There are a number of tweaks available to help.

I race on-line for fun, but there are some really serious racers out there. I look forward to some non-serious briskoda racing soon. Will have to see if we can get 7(or more) people interested.

Much more fun .......

I found a link to a 'Nordschleife' add-on for GTL. I'll have to give that a go, razzing around the 'ring in a souped-up Cortina! :)

Not looked for ages, but has GTR released a linux server client?

same goes for ledgends....once I sort the boxes out and everything else of course ;)

I've just found that too

I tried driving it in the MKII Jag 'gentleman's express' - 'kin hell its difficult  but also very fun :D

Not sure, but i dont think so.

I have installed the non-dx version for GTR (its on simbins site somewhere), doesn't require a directx gfx card to run. GTL dedicated server program works in the same way.

Yes, the Alfa handles brilliantly and the noise is fantastic. Discovering that you can 'test-drive' the cars means that I've now tried out most of the cars at Mondello Park.

The 911 is a bit unwieldy, but the Pantera is a monster!

I still like the Capri :)

Selecting a race on the Nordschliefe causes GTL to crash :( Bathurst and Le Mans are good though.
