Haldex service interval

Featured Replies

Slightly confused as to when the haldex oil has to be changed?

I thought it was 30k but rereading what the dealer said to me when I enquire it is apparently at

three years? They had mistakenly put my car on fixed servicing though, since corrected, so could be nearly at 60k when 3 years old? Is it 3 years or 30k?

The dsg was clearly stated at 40k though and not time related.

Confused.....

According to the service tables in Elsawin there are no set intervals for the Haldex oil change, only for the DSG @ 60K km no time limit though ?

40,000 miles.

In a recent Haldex failure thread it was said that VW had changed the service interval to 30,000 but that was then shown as being for a Golf R.

Which dealer said it was 30,000 miles / 3 years for your haldex?  Was that the Service desk person that said that after reading something from Skoda / VW?

I would ask them again.

Mine was allegedly changed at 3years/60k then at 5 years/80k. Discovered that Gen4 Haldex pump failed at 7years/92k, filter blocked, oil was like treacle.

As both were by the same dealer I suspect it failed before the 80k change and they never sorted the filter........

It will be 2 years/30k from now on for me unless of course there is no degredation of the oil.

don't let Skoda /VW tell you there is no filter because there is
