Spacesaver storage

Featured Replies

Brilliant stuff @JohnnyType2. The 19" Xtreme alloy has a profile of 35 so should be ok. Where did the wheel clamp that you used to screw the alloy to the car come from? I guess you need to put some sort of protection down in the bottom of the wheel well to stop the alloy from rubbing on the bottom?

I think i'm going to give your method a go as it's more cost effective, the space saver is £290 on it's own, the alloy £220. OK, I need to add a tyre but it's marginal.

Thanks

wheel clamp came with the offical skoda spare wheel kit. it doesnt come with the bolt cap remover which is in the crappy inflation kit, so i just took everything bar the liquid and put them together. I used the material that came boxed with the new alloy but i will change this to felt insulation which is about 2-5mm thick when compressed and nice and soft (a couple of quid from b&q) my gemini worked out ar £198 and a winter tyre was £59, bog standard Zeta 225 40 R18

Pics very useful.  Thanks!  I collect my car tomorrow and have bought a full size 18" Gemini too.  I thought that the spare wheel tool kit and it's polystyrene housing was supposed to fit inside the wheel without alteration.  The kit I ordered says it's only for the vRS so perhaps there's some difference with a standard Octavia one??  Cheers!

i dont think youll be disappointed with the TSI, i would have gone for a TSI but i do too many miles. with the DTUK box im not that far off in terms of power now anyway, and the torque is savage enough for me.

Bloody rip off really but its a main dealer i guess. Have to wait until i have a little so spare cash. Not urgent anyway. Glad i never paid for the wheel from them! £290!!

It is an absolute rip off when a 19 inch extreme alloy is only £220. Don't know how they justify it.

How long did it take for your new wheel to be delivered from Ireland?

Thanks.

full size spare 18" gemini with a butchered spare wheel kit foam in the well. It sits about 15 mm above the floor but its hardly noticable.

@JohnnyType2 What's the difference between the tool kit you purchased and this one - http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Octavia_Mark_3_VRS-_Spare_Wheel_Tool_Kit_5E0093860A

I assume you got yours from Superskoda?

The part number is slightly different too.

Got it at the nearest dealer, and the alloy from R.O.I.
