just got my 2002 Octavia RS last Friday, great Car!!!

hence, noobie to the site too.

Is there manuals, or directions anywhere online that will let me know how

to work in and around the dash,

am looking at changing the car kit in it, and I don't want to pay €200 for someone to take the old one out, (yep, was quoted that from 2 places)

I've had a look around the area, taking out some screws etc. but there's hidden clips and I don't want to yank them out and have a squeeking dash because of it,

I,m sure there are lots of posts around but the kit is proberbly behind the glove box. There are three tourqe screws across the inside top when you open it and two at the bottom in the passanger footwell. Once removed it slider off. But be careful as the light on the right hand side needs unclipped as soon as you have removed it enough to get to it as the cable is not very long. The stereo can be removed with kenwood keys i think.

for easy access under the steering wheel, the bottom horizontal panel come sout with a few screws, then in the cubby box where the diagnostic port is there are 2 slots, put a flat headed screw driver in there and push the clips back and the bottom comes out easy...
