Megapower Leds superskoda - wrong shape?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I wonder if someone who fitted Superskoda's megapower leds can confirm my doubts?

Turns out that on my Octavia from 2016 there is black stripe of plastic on ne of the side of the triangled whole where the light should be installed.

Is it present on your mirrors as well?

Not sure if it's a design fault of superskoda's lights or I should simply ignore it.

When I screwed the Superskoda's light to a mirror it felt that was bending inside when I was pushing it from the bottom. You can feel that it does not sit there properly.

Trust me I spent 25 min trying to fit it and this black bit stops it to settle in the whole correctly.

I'm just worried that water will get into a mirror. Trying to avoid any unecessay damage.

I machined away the Edge.  Then it fits with one screw.

hmmm, I don't want to do that, car still on warranty.

Probably will go for osram's w5w bulbs.

If you read the superskoda webpage, it tells you that you'll need to perform a modification to fit them to a MK3 Octavia.

The reason is they were actually designed for the MK2 FL Octavia so the fact they "fit" the MK3 isn't by design, it's just chance :)

I would not agree with it. I know at the bottom it says you need to modify your mirrors but first statement should be modified:

- fits all Octavia III with downlights in the mirrors

I don't think so! This is misleading information. It fits but you have to modify the mirror. Last time I'm buying anything there.
