Skoda Fabia 1.6tdi emissions recall advice

Featured Replies

Hi All

Looking for advice on this.

My car was in to Skoda for emissions recall.

The car was 100% before it went in and since the engine management light has been on.

I have checked for codes and has came up with 3 glow plug faults.

Where do i stand with this as the garage want £177 to change.

Thanks in advance

The car covered 40miles then engine management came on.

Check this on my own vagcom.

No mechanics or service manager available  no surprise there......

There was no 'Recall',   you were just informed about 'The Fix' and was not required to have it done, but VW gave assurances your vehicle would not be adversely affected.

Is this @ Skoda Specialist Cars part of The John Clark Group you are dealing with?.

(They do not employ Mechanics / Motor Engineers, just Fitters, Techs / Master Techs, where were they all,

off on an upselling course, holiday or away out on road tests!)

Tell them to get their thinking caps on and remember the 24 month peace of mind guarantee from the VW Group / Skoda UK,

pay nothing, make an official report / complaint on your cars behaviour post 'The Fix'.

Get the Principal Dealer to talk with you, or the Workshop Manager / Master Tech and have them put in  writing that they want you to pay for them working for the VW Group and affecting how your car runs.

Go to a main dealer and abuse their 24 month warranty to get the issues resolved.

Skoda Specialist cars / John Clark Group is the Main Skoda dealers in Perth Dundee and Aberdeen and the Service desk staff know fine well that there might well be, 'No charge to the customer's. Because VW wanted their perfectly good running cars in and the defeat device removal causes hardware or software failings.

If a company does something to your property that makes it worse, they should  be forced by law to rectify it - including removing whatever they did to make your property worse.

I am very tempted to gather all the evidence I have on the botch on one of my cars (the 'fix'), remap at my own expense and take them to the small claims court for the costs.

You will be thanked by many if you can help VW realise they are causing more issues and not accepting it!
