next time your sat in your car can you have a look at the steering wheel and tell me if it is offset compared to the instruments? I noticed this on mine the other day, it seem the whole column is at a slight angle compared to the dash.

is it normal? also if you look at the trip meter reset button that's in the centre the boss of the steering wheel doesn't line up with it.

Very normal, 

European Left Hand Drive Design Vehicles, and sold around the world and right hand drive often has odd steering column angle, seat / pedal position.

eg, Indicator stalk suits left hand drive car with gear stick to the right hand of a driver.

yeah I drove a BMW 316 that a manager had where I worked back in the 90's down to Cambridge and back. that had the pedals in one corner and the seat facing the other way almost so it made you twist your legs and body. not comfortable.
