Sportline ordered!

Recommended Posts

Well we took a trip to the local dealer this afternoon.

I test drove two, both being the 150 diesel.

Sportline Manual and a SE Executive with DSG or might of been a SE but it had full leather and  a few options ticked.

Impressed with both variant. The engine is pretty punch and pulls well through the gears. The DSG also good, I put it in Sport mode, not sure f that made a difference.

I've gone for

Sportline

Estate

Laser White

Power tailgate

Traffic sign recognition

Ordered traffic sign so could get the camera and hopefully enable high beam assist.

Not sure if any other options worth adding as it's pretty well specced on the Sportline, maybe blind spot indicator.

Anyone living with the DSG, is it worth the extra as the Manual drove nice too.

Cheers

Aye will do.

I hope Laser white is an ok colour.  I had Moon white on my Octy.

I fancied DSG this time around so was either that or a metallic colour.

Are front sensors now standard?  If not then I'd recommend them.  The Superb is a big car!  Also how about the temp spare wheel?  It works out cheaper to spec it on the options list now rather than trying to buy the wheel and tool kit seperately from a dealer or TPS.

I too went for TSR to get the A5 camera and can confirm HBA assist is easily enabled via VCDS; lane assist too but that's a feature I don't like nor use.

No front sensors not standard so would need to see if they could be added. But the Octy didn’t have them either allbeit smaller car.

Lame assist ill also enable and see how it goes. Didn’t bother me on the Octy.

Can you recommend any other bits to activate?

Front sensors are an option on the sportline as I've ordered them on mine, as is parking assist which gives you 4 side sensors as well.

A lot of the things you can enable with vcds are nice gimmicks, like the needle sweep.  The ones worth adding it's seems are lane assist (which will give you traffic jam assist as well), high beam assist and, depending on how you will drive it, the audi throttle mod and changing the xds diff setting. There are probably one or two more useful ones but i dont know them.

I have enabled the following with OBDEleven and VCDS:

High Beam Assist

Display fan speed on Auto

Audi throttle response (makes no difference to accelerator pedal lag)

Diff turning to strong

Store heated seat setting

Cornering fog speed/on-off threshold

I also played around with the startup logo on the MFD but there's nothing for the Sportline (a fairly nice vRS logo though)

So the Audi throttle change makes no difference? I read on other threads it was brilliant.

Sounds similar adaptions to that of the Octy then :)

No change whatsoever, not for the manual anyway.  The diff change on the other hand is very noticeable IME.

I'm not 100% sure on the steps with VAGCOM as I had it done for me in my previous car and I used OBDEleven on mine this time.  Hopefully this should help:

Well, the car was built but sitting in Germany at the docks.

So so unlikely to get it anytime before Christmas so hoping  first week in 2018.

Also so why does it go through Germany docks?

I think the majority, if not all VAG cars go through Emden docks.  Possibly down to infrastructure and logistics, they have trains running from the factories to the docks is my understanding.

Surely the German coast is the closest to Czech Republic for cars coming to Britain
