I signed up for the 9.99 contract when I went to France in June and the only other time I've really used my powerpass card was when I went again in August. The money I've saved on those two trips compared to the full price ionity (let alone petrol) have more than made up for the cost of a year.

Emily-Elizabeth and I are still in contact with Loz, and we meet up every so often, but I'm not sure if she posts on here. @Lee she still has her Fabia. I think she will keep it until it fails. I'm not sure if @Tigger is still around on here. I see him on Facebook still and he was trying to organise an old times sake cider farm trip for some of the old gang, but the pandemic got in the way. As above, It sounds like the water pump. I had one go during the main lockdown. Looking around it's a relatively common fault on the chain driven vag engines, not just the 280.

With my sportline 280 (206kw), I used to manage around 31 mpg, so about 9l/100km. And that was mainly motorway driving, I almost only used 99 RON petrol in it as well. With the fuel Consumption, I don't trust them as they are all done in perfect laboratory testing, so they are not accurate to real life driving.

Carplay wireless is sent to the car by a WiFi connection, so the bandwidth is greater than Bluetooth streaming. You can still use the cable option for carplay too. Another option you could use is to have the audio files on a memory stick and plug that into one of the usb-c ports, but if you only stream, you are limited to the bandwidth of the WiFi connection, as well as your phone signal and the quality of the music on the app.

To be fair I never did the strobe light thing. I did put blue and red lights in a volvo grill and cover the sides with yellow squares for a road trip once. The problem is when your missus is now a copper, you need to be a bit more straight laced.

I don't think you can register 1 car to 2 accounts. Why you are unable to use the same login on 2 phones on the other hand, I'm not sure.

That is for the 100kw/125kw charging option if you did not order it from the factory. It is apparently a software update to the charging circuits. I'd guess the price would be the same as the factory option.

This bit sounds like utter nonsense and that they were just trying to give you a reason rather than just saying 'i dont know'. Having the wheel alignment done should not affect any of the cars electronic systems. The ACC uses radar to judge the distance, it has nothing to do with the wheels alignment. Its more likely a small knock like a pothole jarring the car, or something software related caused it to go out of calibration.

They also did a cover of snap-the power. Surprisingly it's not as bad as you'd think in an early 00's rock way. The video is terrible though....

The 21 inch wheels have self sealing tyres apparently, so some of the tools are not needed. The ones are in the car should be underneath the boot floor at the back of the boot. I can't help you with the app, but if you have the heat pump you just need to look under the bonnet. There is a sticker at the front with the refrigerant used by the aircon. If it says R1234yf, then it is just standard aircon. If it says R744 than you have the heat pump fitted.

Colin, I was in a similar boat to you. I don't need to move on my superb, I can afford to keep it, but I do 15,000 miles a year and in a superb 280, that's over £300 every 4 weeks at current prices. Saving £3900 a year just in petrol is a no brainer, especially as I rarely get to drive the superb like it should be. Yes my electricity will go up and the payments for the car are more, but I'm still saving when those are taken into account.

Just to clarify. I moved from a mk2 octy vrs to the superb. And for a while I expected it to be the same, probably as I was seeing the superb as a bigger golf r, which it definitely is not.

I've got the original 280 and tbh the only time I notice the power is when I'm overtaking. The superb really doesn't handle like a hot hatch, it's a barge thats better suited to the motorway than twisty roads and if you're used to an octy vrs, you will be dissapointed for a while because of it. The power is nice to have when its needed but at 155.9p for a litre of super unleaded and 30mpg it's expensive to run as a daily driver. Mine costs me over £300 a month in petrol, and I probably get less than 400 miles to a 65 litre tank (When full it gives me a range of 425).

I found that printing a base model spec sheet from other car builder and then using the brochure to work out the options is the only way it makes sense, as its not very clear when just using the car builder

Personally I would not go for either of them. Reading on other forums, BP pulse chargers are a pain to get fitted as their customer service is poor. The 2 Yr membership rates for their fast chargers is a plus, but how often would you use them? There are 2 near me and there are already queues. Again on the forums the forecourt chargers don't have a good reputation either. The podpoint is a bit bulky and basic. The key to lock out the power is a good idea, but it's nothing special. As it doesn't have built in earth fault protection, you might need an earth spike installed. They are cheapish, and when fitted they do what you want of them, but there are many other options avaliable at different price points including the zappi, EO, easee, hypervolt, Andersen and more. Some will also connect to solar, and also have active load management so it adjust charge rate according to the load thebrest of the house is taking. Look at those as well before commiting to one.

When I did the 0-60 time I was 4 up and I used launch control. Its the only time I've ever bothered using it tbh. It's OK on the mechanicals, but it can cause the clutches to wear out quicker. The DSG computer logs how many times its done too, so if you do it too much and the gearbox breaks, they could refuse a claim. It was measured using a phone timing app that was rested by the gear selecter. I do take the time with a pinch of salt, and if it was all done properly I'd guess it would be around 5, but the car is a motorway cruiser with good overtaking. It's not a hot hatch. Skoda/volkswagen are known for under reporting bhp figures. Even the mk1 fabia vrs pushed 145bhp when rolling roaded.

We've got a ninja dual air fryer. I second the comments above, it's great and rarely needs any extra oil. The only downside is that as its quite compact, you need to stir/shake every few minutes (for lots of chips and stuff) as it does not have the stirrer thing that the actifry comes with.

Knowing Skoda/volkswagen, the 272 was already pushing out 280 (or more), so all they've done is say 'here you go, have 8ps more'. If not, it's just a simple change in mapping as they learn a bit more about the current gen engines behaviour. The 0-60 is just a figure. My original 280 superb had an official 0-60 of 5.8s. It was timed on an airfield at 4.5s. Its quick enough for overtaking and just getting up to speed, which is where it really matters. I'd say that the appeal has gone down thanks to the luxury tax for private buyers. Leasing hides the cost in the monthly rate, so you won't notice as much. I am changing my 280 superb as I'm spending over £300 on petrol just on general use. I looked at a superb diesel, but the ones I was interested in were over £40k before any options. The extra £350 per year in road tax when not leasing is not worth it for a motorway cruiser, so I have gone for an enyaq instead.
