Superskoda Licence Plate LEDs Problem

Featured Replies

In the recent 20% off sale I bought a few bits from Superskoda, including a LED kit for the rear licence plate (combi/estate).

Having bought door lights, puddle lights etc last year I was fairly happy they would be decent enough but I am having trouble getting them connected and wondered if anyone else has used them ?

You are supplied with two LED lamp units, connector cables with one large plug and two smaller connectors and two resistors with plug.  The LED unit has one small and one large plug socket on the back.  The large socket matches the power lead on my car but there are no electrical pins inside the LED unit connector so it seems defunct of any use...!   The resistor can only plug into one end of the twin connector cable supplied.  Then the other part of the twin cable can only plug into the small plug socket on the LED unit.  I am then left with the large connector on the lead but this does not match my car ?  As I say, the plug socket that my car lead plugs into ok has no electrical pins inside therefore no power will get to the unit.

See photos below....am I doing something wrong or is this a faulty unit which I suspect it may be with the missing terminals ?   Superskoda initially replied but misunderstood the issue, after two further emails including the same photos below I am getting no reply......disappointing response.   Any ideas ? Thanks Dave

Is your superb a facelift? If so, I'm pretty sure the superskoda description says they won't fit...

Thanks for that, I have just re-read the description and sure enough it does say before Facelift...I hadn't noticed at the time of order, not exactly clear...ah well....

Not sure why Superskoda didn't mention in the first place with the pics I sent to them but I will now investigate a return of the parts or sell them on..... :-(

Cheers for the heads up!

Dave
