Drive line vibration

Featured Replies

I have a vibration through the car and i've finally ruled out wheels and tyres as I've put brand new of both on. I'm now looking towards the drive line, a Google search seems to suggest a problem with the inner C.V joint on the d.s.g drive Shaft, had anyone else experienced this?

When does the vibration occur? When you accelerate, all the time, at certain speeds?

Had a similar issue on my old pre fl dsg at around 160k miles, had to remove drive shafts to replace the rubber covers but the inner joints both sides were shot so replacement shafts from ecp were fitted, car was much better after that, take up from stand still was smoother and vibration was gone, depending in your mileage it may be worth considering front bearings as well.

That's the thing, its low milage (41k) but does get driven hard. I am aware the front shocks are misting but don't believe it to be the culprit. The reason I think drive shaft is the vibration is mainly whilst accelerating around 60-70 mph but when I shift into neutral it feels normal, not a great way to diagnose I know but if I jack it up, how much play should be in the joint's?
