Fabia spare Ignition feed?

Featured Replies

I've been looking throughout the forum and can't find anything on this, so apologies if it's been covered before.

I'm looking for a spare ignition feed somewhere up front that I can use to wire in a dashcam for the Mrs, I know on the Octavia/Golf there's a ring terminal on the fusebox but can't find anything like this on her car.

Cheers, Dave.

There's a switched live and a permanent live to the stereo right below where you want to put a dashcam.

Yea I could break in there, I just wanted to avoid having to trail a cable all the way from the stereo, around to the top of the screen where the camera is going to sit. I ideally wanted to just hook in another in-line cigarette lighter socket under the dash near the A-pillar. If I have to go from the stereo I will, just a pain in the ass. lol

Ok, there's one for the overhead interior light right next to where you want it.

use a piggy back fuse and go for the rear wiper

thats what I did and it can be neatly tucked behind the a pillar straight into the fusebox

Thanks for the tips guys, will do one of them once I get round to it.

Dave.

Supply to the heater fan switch, with a small value in line fuse.

Last weekend i mounted a USB Charger flush into the side of the plastic cowling just below the glove box in the foot well that hide the heater matrix. It's around 58mm deep there so it fit with no issues as the socket was only 47mm deep. I ran the earth and ignition live from the stereo. I use it for my sat have. It has a cover on as well when not in use. Worked for me. If I get a chance I'll post a pick.

Here's mine. Easy fit.
