Emmision converter . Any problems after the recall work?

Featured Replies

Hi, we've. Had our Octavia 1.6 diesel for 3 years, trouble free motoring. Had the recall for emissions and now the fan runs after engine turned off after very short journeys. Also, today, the car has just cut out and has had to be towed to a garage. AA thinks it's time belt but it's only done 43000 miles. Anyone else had problems?

Loads of people, loads of posts in Briskoda sections for the various models other than the Citigo.

Posts in General Chat as well on failures.

At least VW Group gave you a 24 month warranty now post fix, and then the Dealership that did the Fix will have to take responsibility if their employee did something wrong.

How did it cut out and what did it do when you tried to restart it?

Hi, it shook a little and then cut out. No warning lights at all. Just made a dreadful sound when trying to start. AA called out, nothing obvious . Thought it was time belt. Only done 43k and just serviced. Had emission converter done last month. Only difference noticed was fan on when on short journeys. Been a great car up till now.  Hoping I won't lose  confidence in it when I get it back.
