bumper respray with bi-xenon headlight cutouts

Featured Replies

hi. I dropped my key on my door sill so took it in to the best bodyshop in the region to fix it. Obviously they dinged my car in their workshop breaking the bracket that the headlight washer valve attaches to. I've mentioned the whole insident before here so won't bore you again other than to say the whole experience has been devestating and left me on antidepressants

The problem is after having it fixed elsewhere there is now some paint on the rubber seal that you can see in the gap around the cutout cover

Can i ask if anyone has any experience of getting front bumper with the cutouts resprayed.

Is the edge actually painted because I dont see how it can be done without getting overspray on the rubber bit of the assembly - even at the factory

the really depressing thing is that I was telling my family that the car would be damaged by the repair centre the day before it was due to be collected. I just figured that that would definately be the type of thing that would happen to me. My bad luck with cars is off the scale

thanks for any replies

From the other thread you should have employed an Independent Expert and got a report done and then had a Solicitor send a letter to the Bodywork place responsible for the Balls up.

That is after having offered them to rectify their mistakes before taking the Expert & Solicitor action which you needed before taking an action against them in court.

?

Have you not been to another 'Professional Body repairer' to get an opinion & a quote to have the work properly carried out?

Usually I'd expect the bumper to be removed for a respray so there's no risk of overspray.

^^^ I bumped the last thread so you can see what this is about.

The original thread needs a read as well.

the overspray is to the rubber seal that pokes about half way thorough the cutout

apparently the bumper assembly is delivered to the body shop with the bracket assemly attached to the back of the bumper
