1.8T Engine Grounding

After experiencing some electrical issues, I decided to do the grounding mod-see the full DIY here:

I used about 2 meters of 4 gauge wire as in the following links (scroll down to find the tab ''ΣΥΝΟΔΕΥΤΙΚΑ ΑΡΧΕΙΑ''to see their specs):

copper crimp connectors

wire

I built the following wires (length is not standard as there are different ways to do it):

Intake manifold to Right fender

Intake manifold to Valve cover

Intake manifold to Central point (near FPR)

Central point (near FPR) to Tranny grounding point

Central point (near FPR) to Battery Negative

Battery Negative to left fender

After installing I noticed a slightly smoother operation of the engine (mostly on idle), slightly better radio reception and higher charging voltage (my Scangauge now saws 13.8-13.9 compared to 13.2-13.4 volts before).

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly

Mid-way through a holiday in France and the Infotainment gremlins are back… SOS call fail, parking distance fail and manoeuvre assist fail, coupled with infotainment system booting, lasting about 30s, freezing and rebooting. SOS light on red and multiple warnings on dash. Car is coming up to 2 years old and has had repeated software issues. Could really use some help from someone who has had this issue and can stop the endless reboots !!!

Hi all fabia Monte Carlo received car with no history, but completed checks using VCDS engine was healthy except 2 sec rattle cold start. I want to change my tensioner because I believe it’s failing to hold tension due to the 2 sec rattle on cold start which immediately ceases and also fails to reoccur when turning on car a second time, or if it’s only been stood a short while. Hi good people! I just updated my car to SW 332 (came with 330). I have Superb combi 2023 Style, but it has Columbus (bigger) MIB3 infotainment. First I wanted to update maps, as it was V25.5. So, I've downloaded 26.2 (latest from https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/), added it to the USB-A stick, but nothing happened, no notification. Left the stick inside and in the meantime got trial for Infotainment online package. Now it's saying map version 26.6 (despite online showing 26.2), so what happ

I have previously commented on lane assist being a problem but this morning it came very close to causing an accident. I was following a friend and neighbour on the first part of our respective journeys to work. The road is subject to a 60mph limit. I was doing just on 40. He turns right and pulls into the right turn lane provided so there is plenty of room to pass on the nearside. Hi all, I have an issue with my 2005 Octavia I was hoping to get some assistance with. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a strange, intermittent issue with the electric windows on the car. If I get in and start the ignition, the radio doesn’t show the time in the centre at the top, I know my electric windows won’t work. As soon as the clock is displayed the windows work again.
