Intermittent Outside Air Temperature Reading

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My SO's 2008 Fabia 1.6 Estate has had an intermittent issue for the last month whereby the reading for the outside temperature does not display for a few minutes, then it will display for a few minutes, then not display, etc. Not sure where to start with this, or where the sensor is. Is this a common issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Will

Not seen this before but a common place for sensors will be near front bumper somewhere it can get a temp reading. Might be suffering water ingress so clean and spray with either electrical contact spray or WD40 etc.  If it still persists, it might need a new sensor. I am only guessing at the mo, but as all the other instruments are (Hopefully) Operating within normal parameters, (Call me Mr. Data), I'd suspect the sensor prior to the display.

I'm guessing it might be behind the bumper near the rad somewhere, is there any quick access to this area?

It’s under the front number plate behind the grill.
