Holes in front wheel arches- what are they for?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been posted before, tried searching but couldn't find anything.

So now I'm getting more familiar with my 245, I noticed these rectangular holes in the front wheel arches.   Does anyone know why they're there- Is it brake cooling/weight reduction/cost reduction, or something more dramatic like aero?

Thanks!

Possibly to help reduce water spray from the edge of the wheels?

Ahh that's a good point.

I just hope the cavity doesn't fill up with mud etc.!

think they maybe to fit mudflaps on

Theyre at the leading edge of the arch. Can confirm that’s not what they’re for.

They help change the air pressure in the wheel arches at speed for aero stuff.
