Skoda Media Command issue

Featured Replies

I have been messing about with a few apps (both on IOS and Android) and can't get the Skoda Media command app to work. I connect via the Superbs WLAN ok but get "The Skoda Media Command function has not been enabled in the infotainment system. Please contact your Skoda partner." when using the app. It does momentarily show what is currently playing and previous routes but then gives up. I noticed if you delete the app, reinstall it and opening it again it does the momentary connect then comes up with the error message again.

The Skoda One App works ok so I know that I am connecting to the car correctly. This has no problems at all and shows live engine speed, g meter readings, speed, service details etc.

Is this something that can be enabled using VCDS or OBDeleven? Or do I have to go to the Skoda dealer?

Media Command is a paid option when you order a new car.

It cannot be enabled by third party as it needs a SWAP code that only the workshop can download but is unlikely to be done if it was not included as part of the original specification.

I have it. Sounded okay on paper but pants in practice and hardly ever used. Not something to get excited about.

Thanks Billy. I'll not bother with the Media Command app in that case.

One App works fine and is worth having.

Played around with the Media Command when I first got the car 2 months ago, I don't have the full functionality enabled either. As far as I could make out (without the licence) you can control what is shown on the connected tablet(s) (i.e. play files already on the tablet) from the infotainment system but not control the infotainment from the tablet. The basic functionality might be handy if you have small kids and going on a long journey, tablet & holder mounted on back of the headrest (not sport line of course) to entertain the small ones but I can't really see the need to control the infotainment system, if I am in the car I am driving so have full control anyways, I also have a pet hate of passengers messing with infotainment system
