I dunno about claimed figures but here's my on personal experience of various yokes I've had/have over the same routes driving styles

1.0tsi OCTAVIA that I don't have yet 45mpg hopefully

2015 c4 cactus diesel 60mpg all day long every day

2010 F10 520d BMW 40mpg mabey 50 on a very long run

2011 2.0tdci 163bhp Mondeo hatch 42mpg

2007 E60 520d 44 mpg

2002 1.5 Almera saloon 33-37 mpg depending on right shoe /external temp

1984 200tdi range rover classic 29mpg,unless towing a car transporter and race car 25 mpg

2011 1.6tdi Passat manual saloon 55mpg
