Obd reader??

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Trying to keep this simple, (not a master of gadgets)

I have a very cheapy obd reader thing, that plugs into the port by the footwell of my Felicia, to be fair its brought a few codes to my attention, anyway I want to clean my throttle body (no drama with that) but I have read that you need to reset the TF after cleaning with vag com? Whatever that is?

Is that a laptop thing? After looking on fleabay there seam's loads of connections that go in laptops, is that all you need? Other than a laptop...

I would take it to my local garage but I'm as skint as a bottle of chips. (That's fries to you lot across the pond).

Thank you in advance.

VAG-COM is the old name for VCDS made by RossTech. It is computer software that connects to your car via an interface (cable and in newer cases wireless).

I have no idea how it applies to your car, but go here for information about the product: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/

You can probably get pirate versions if you look for them.
