Ecu connector pins to camshaft sensor

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2006 Octavia mk 2 1.9tdi. Its suddenly started taking longer to start up. Changed battery and then starter motor and made no difference besides turning over faster with the new starter.

Got a ebay vag com lead and found camshaft sensor no signal fault. Looked into this online and it seems its either the wiring loom to the ecu or the sensor itself.

I want to continuity check the wires from the ecu to the camshaft sensor connector before buying a replacment sensor.

Does anyone know which pins on the ecu go to the camshaft hall sensor? Or have an electrical diagram for the wiring loom?

Many thanks in advance

Pins 1, 2, 3 of cam sensor go to ECU pins 27, 28 & 12 respectively, +5V, signal, -ve .

Great will check this out in the morning and if they buzz out ok go buy a sensor. Thanks for the swift reply :).

I changed the camshaft sensor on my scout 2ltr TDi and I found I had to get the correct vemo one (eurocarparts) that worked with a grey plug, yours could either be black or grey. cheers Stuart

Not sure which one i got from europarts. Was just the cheapest one they had.

Still have the fault. Went to continuity check the wiring to the ecu plug and give up when i saw how big a job it is just to gain access to the ecu located under the windscreen :/.

Went and got a new sensor and fitted it but fault still there. When i get a hour or two free i plan to strip back the wiring harness near where it passes by the starter motor as looking online it seems comman for the harness to get damaged there.

Update for anyone with the same issue i had.

Finally had chance to look at the wiring. Instead of gaining access to the ecu as i looks like a big job i stripped the harness just before in disapears under the windscreen.

I made a cut in the insualtion of the wires to the camshaft sensor enough to get a multimeter probe on and continuity checked continuity.

I found the green/purple wire measuring meggar ohms so i cut the wire both ends and ran a new wire along side the harness. Connected it up and she fired up straight away.

Glad i finally got to the bottom of this but may consider getting a new harness fitted as if one wire has been damaged chances are more will follow.

Thanks again for the support
