2019 Mk3 Fabia Number plate lighting

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently had the "check number plate lighting" message on the dash when turning the lights on, I suspect this to be a wiring issue as a there is only about 0.5v showing with a meter on the supply pins to both lights, I have put a 12v power supply to the little light units and confirmed these are both okay.

Does anyone know where the supply for these is taken from as it appears the wires go into the loom which goes to the front of the car? I don't believe these have there own fused supply (should also note all other lights are working fine!), so suspect there could be a broken wire somewhere, I have searched the forum and not found any info on this from before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, or failing that recommendations for an auto electrician in the Stockton/ Middlesbrough area.

Cheers, Nick.

Hi Nick - have a look at these two posts which answer your question on colour of wires and where they come from, and I suspect the root cause may be the same.

Thanks for your reply, I will have a look under the grommet and hopefully find the issue!
