New Battery Time for 1.2

Featured Replies

Hello All,

On the scrounge for info again, sorry :-)

I need a new battery for my 1.2 2010 Yeti.

Is there a recommend battery? I have done some searches on here and it seems some batteries are too big?  (but the topics were for diesel Yeti's, not piddly 1.2's.without S/S.) I have a furry cover round mine...

Skoda want £120 for a new one fitted, is it easy-ish job if I get the correct battery? Searching on Eurocar Parts, Halfords, Ebay brings up a load of different manufacturers.

Also didn't see a guide so maybe I could make one if it isn't too taxing?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Muffty

I had the same problem with my 1.2 DSG Yeti (2010) and after looking around found this company: Autopoint, 11 Langcliffe Rd, Preston, Lancashire PR2 6UE - 01772 790999 or 01772 468492

The Battery type for a 2010 Yeti is an 027. I chose a Bosch Silver 027 Battery and it fitted perfectly. Just unbolt the old and bolt on the new. Everything re-set itself with the exception of the electric window closing pressure. But that's very simple, just send the windows down and then hold the switch to send them back up again and hold it fully closed for a few seconds (It's all in the drivers handbook).

Some links to make things easy for you:

Bosch Blue 027 Battery - 12v @ 60 ah - 4 year warranty - £59.99 = LINK

Bosch Siver 027 Battery - 12v @ 63ah - 5 year Warranty - £65.86 = LINK

I was fortunate they were close to me so I picked it up myself, but they do deliver and very often you will get a free delivery option

Hope this helps - no doubt you may get others offering different recommendations. All I can say is this firm has been around for years and years and they were VERY efficient when I placed my order.........Best of luck.........Tony

Whenever I fit a new battery to my own cars i try to get a Bosch or varta. I like to fit and forget.
