Heater only warm

Featured Replies

63 plate octavia 4x4estate. Heater only giving warm air even after 30 mile trip. Heater inlet and outlet hoses reading 80 degrees. Anyone had a similar problem and an easy fix

Are you using Auto Climatronic ?     Try manual,   just guessing.  Fan speed ?

Have tried on all combination of settings with no luck. Increasing the fan speed just makes it feel colder. Hoping that there is some form of valve or relay? Which opens a valve to allow more heat into the heater matrix. Have booked into a local garage who normally looks after the car to put on a diagnostic machine to see if errors come up. Was much easier in the past when you just moved a manual lever to increase the hot water supply.

Probably a faulty water pump, see the overheating thread to understand how the dual circuit coolant system works. And how a swollen sleeve prevents the pump from switching modes. Known common problem and a tpi exists so most of the cost of replacing should be covered by skoda even out of warranty.

I'm pretty sure this issue is not related to the water pump.

The climate system would be able to blow cold air even if the coolant was 130°C if it was working correctly.
