Thanks Greg, any chance you could fax thru a photocopy instead of the hassle of posting? I can send you a few bob to cover postage but Im in Ireland so euros will have to suffice if you can only post, i will scan it and post it up when i get it either way ;)

Cheers

ps: will pm my contact details, thanks again :D

I didn't realise you were 'abroad' :) I was going to say that I think every dealer in the UK has this review right next their brochures!

hehe our dealers wouldnt be that enterprising! :eyecrazy:

I take it this was a good review then :smile-l:

Very good review, and the owner of said vRS now frequents this forum

Which reminds me, has 'he' had his car checked on a RR yet?

The copy I'm going to fax is from the SKoda dealer mini-brochure.

Er...nope.

I'll get round to it. I'm a very lazy man by nature.

I'm hoping it is standard. If it is then I can make it faster with a re-map. :drive:

If that makes sense.

I'm hoping it is standard. If it is then I can make it faster with a re-map.
But if it isn't standard (as yet to be indicated by RR figures), you can still continue to insure it as an unmodified car since there no mention in the road test - or when sold to you - that it is otherwise. A case of heads I win, tails you lose. rolleyes.gif

can someone pm me the report on the vRS???

please

This is true.

But if it is standard then I can have the whole Jabba experience.

I could get it RR tested while I'm up in Edinburgh for the week but with it's current DV problems I don't think I'll risk it.

Maybe in a possible future RR-day.

APR have been selling spare ECU's (not just the 'chip') for some time now for about 500 notes.

I'm sure that if freakcrab's car was tuned, they(skoda) would have just stuck in a new ECU - no great shakes to them.

just to stray back onto topic ;) thanks greg i got the fax, sorry for giving you the wrong number :scrambles I was going to scan it and post up a copy but to be honest after coming thru the fax it wouldnt be readable :(

but for those who want to source a copy (and what doting vRS owner wouldnt want a copy of such a glowing report lol ) the autocar road test number is 4493

Cheers

Fergal

how can i get a copy of that test?

[On-topic]

I've got a copy of the original Autocar test (strangly) which I could scan and put on the internet at the weekend if it's still needed.

I'm a little worried about copyright though.

[slightly off-topic]

Maybe I'll be able to get a ride in a standard Octavia vRS on the 23rd for comparison. Cheaper, if more subjective, than an RR test.

No problem Fergal, I'd post it myself but my scanner's really cheap and nasty. If anybody else wants a copy give me your address by pm and I'll post or fax a photocopy - as long as I don't get 50+ requests ! ;)

Alternatively most dealers seem to have copies available.
