Having a good look round online I think I have a rattle coming from the wastegate actuator arm, from what I have read it can be a common fault with the TFSI engine and the videos I've looked at sound exactly like the rattle I have.

 

I've also seen videos of the fix with the actuator clip being applied. My question is, has anyone done this fix, and if so, is it as easy as they make it look in the videos or am I better just getting my usual mechanic to sort it for me?

Is yours still a Pre FL petrol TFSI? I didn't know they suffered the same problem????. The problem really surfaced noticeably in the FL EA888 TSI. It is DIYable but you need to get under car on stands, bottom underguard tray off, CV shield off. And patience..... When I did it, it took a while. Others say 5 min after getting under car done.
