I used to be a member here years ago when I had my Felicia!  could not remember my account so had to sign up again.  Anyway.....

 

My friend has just bought a good solid 2002 vRS that has only a few issues which we were aware of, so got it at a good price.

 

At some point in its life the car has been fitted with coilovers all round, fair enough.  But 2 of them are utterly knackered now, one at each end.  My friend is keen to return the car to stock setup, and I can get good prices on all the shocks and springs, but without access to any blowup diagrams I have a few questions:

 

What mounting hardware will need to be purchased to return to stock?  The rear end looks easy enough, bolt off/on jobbie on the separate shock, and the upper spring mount is factory, but I am not sure about the lower spring mount.  Currently the lower mount is the threaded collar of the coilover spring mount, bolted right into the base plate.  What is there on factory setup?

 

And with the fronts, a new shock will take care of the lower spring mount, but will I need to get an upper spring plate, or is it all part of the topmounts?
