Front wipers started up on their own after five minutes of starting car and wouldn't switch off, only by turning ignition off. Searched on the site and narrowed it down to wiper intermittent relay 377, a large brown one situated above foot pedals. Only mine was numbered 389 ?. People had said to clean the contacts off inside and that was the fix. But mine had no moving parts but solid state modules. I put the relay back in and the fault was gone ! . Thinking this was a problem that was going to reoccur I purchased another relay from my local TPS, they told me the 377 relay had been superseded by 389. 

I fitted the new relay 389 and everything was okay but after driving a mile the wipers started up again ........ problem still there!

Back to the Briskoda  website and further into the article on the wiper problem, member : ExAudiS1 had suggested to disconnect the rear wiper motor saying water gets into the motor and causes allsorts of problems. Disconnecting the rear motor has now cured the problem.

I think the recent snow .... over a foot deep laying on the car and condensation inside I think has  caused the problem. ( Aircon U/S )

I can live without the rear wiper for now. I thank ExAudiS1 and the fantastic Briskoda website once again.

Had the same problem with mine a few yrs back, and it was also solved by yanking the rear wiper fuse

The rear wiper motor probably has screenwash inside it. It's a pretty common issue unfortunately, but easily fixed with a replacement motor.

Stripping and cleaning the old one may work for a while, but I replaced mine with new and the problem never came back while I owned the car.
