When i start my car you can here the starter motor over turn it just dose it on first start from cold it is listing 2 new starters i have a 05 1.8t vrs is my starter on its way out 

A quick removal and lube of the shaft that pops out when starting should sort it.

Ok is it easy to remove the starter motor what do you need to lube is up 

I have in the past cleaned starter motors when the bendix doesn't engage the flywheel and I just cleaned the shaft with turps or paraffin, you didn't use any oil or lubricant on the shaft as it collected the dust and made the problem worse ! cheers Stuart
