Dash Panel removable

Featured Replies

End of a long story. I had a DAB radio fitted to my wife's Mii by Halfords. It was a dismal failure and after many visits and different aerials being fitted I had it all removed and the original radio refitted. We then noticed that the heater/demist wasn't working correctly. It appears that when they refitted the panel they misaligned the RH control as they refitted it. Now the control knob is 180 deg. out of alignment so that it has to be set to different positions to what it should be.

Normally I'd take it back and tell them to fix it but I've totally lost confidence in them and have decided to try to fix it myself.

Any advice on removing the panel so that I can realign the knob to it's correct position?

Yes fairly simple to remove. The trim piece around the heater controls pops out and then you can remove the heater control mechanism. There is a flexible driveshaft attached to the air direction knob. This needs removing and reinserting back on its spline inside the dash. It just pulls out and will push back in when in the right place. Can be fiddly but doable.

This might help?  VW Up, but basically the same dash arrangement as the Citigo/Mii.

Thanks for that Snaefell. I'm not sure if it helps or not but what it does show is that there is no need to interfere with the heater controls!  Why they did that I do not know.
