Front brake caliper guide pins socket size

Featured Replies

Hi, new to the forum, have patience with me!

Looking to change front pads and discs on my 2004 1.2 47kw Fabia.

I like to have all tools to hand, struggling to find out what socket is on caliper guide pins that are removed for access to pads.

I seem to have 3 choices, 7 mm Allen, Torx T40 or T45.

Any kind person know what is the right one, thanks!

Depends what size discs you have. If they are 256mm, I think the 7mm Allen is correct. If 239mm I think it's a 6mm Allen.

One way to tell which you have is by lettering on the outward facing side of the caliper, FSII = 239, FSIII =256.

The disc retaining screw might be a torx, can't remember the size though, maybe Tx30?

Thanks for that my old discs are 256 diameter, so looks like 7 mm Allen key is the one.
