Electric windows blowing fuse 58

Featured Replies

Hello!

My 2009 Fabia 3 1.4 tdi estate has developed a problem. The passenger side electric windows keep blowing fuse 58, if I change the fuse the windows work for a few days then the fuse pops again.

I'm a bit concerned as the fuse is rated at 25 amps. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Cheers,

Colin

Sorry, made a slight error the fuse is SB52 that blows.

Central locking works ok!

Cheers,

Not sure of the wattage/amperage side of things offhand but have you checked that the door window rubbers are clean etc? If they drag, they can prevent the window from operating correctly and cause too much strain on the motor, which in turn, could cause motor failure or fuses to blow!

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

The fuse is actually 25amp.

It's a short cct in the wiring somwhere.

It now blows the fuse as soon as it's put in.

Check the wiring in the door rubber gaitor, it may be damaged or the insulation has deteriorated (dried and cracked off) where it flexes.
