Decision Made. Octavia vRS Estate it is!

Featured Replies

Time has come to change our car and having had two Superbs this was our natural first choice. However having reviewed the dimensions I now know that the mk3 Octavia estate is almost exactly (i.e. the the millimetre) the same size as the mk2 Superb in all dimensions, including boot and interior space.

So the easy choice is now a vRS 230 Estate in Race Blue.

I can’t wait!

Good choice!

Good choice! Are you sure about the interior dimensions? Subjectively from sitting in both, the rear legroom is significantly less in the MK3 Octavia than the MK2 Superb.

Well according to this vs the current Octavia specs then yes:

To be honest it's the cabin width and boot size which is more important, we rarely have back seat passengers other than the dog, so losing a bit won't matter anyway.

The bigger concern is the challenging parking in our permit controlled street. Even being a London bred Parking Ninja, the last thing I need is a new car which is 8" longer than the old one!

Plus I now do less than 10k a year, so I'm looking forward to the petrol performance again.

Great choice, Twelvebears, always lusted after a VRs.  I’m with AHenners on the interior space thing, though: I’ve got an Octy at the mo and have just tested a Superb. Definitely wider inside & more rear legroom. But the Octy isn’t small by any means.

octy is fine for my needs, two kids and a big dog (8, 10 and 18 months respectively).  don't want anything any bigger personally.
