Hi all,

 

Just bought my first Skud! Octavia vRS estate TDI in black with extra black bits and Gemini wheels. Very pleased with it so far, and loving the amount of info on these forums. My previous car was a great Renault Laguna GT Sport Tourer (mk3) which got written off just before Christmas by someone trying to drive a Fiat 500 through the side of it, and previously I've had a Mondeo ST24 estate, so the Octy is the latest on my list of performance estates

 

My Octy has got 56k on the clock and is still under Skoda warranty I think, having been registered in Feb 2015.

 

Looking forward to some adventures in Skodaland!

Just bought my second Skud!

 

Turns out the first one had been clocked (former taxi) so that was returned, and a similar one purchased. This one has the Amundsen nav and winter pack (heated seats and heated front screen), and has done 63k miles (genuine this time) with full service history. Looking forward to more adventures with this one

WOW how did you find out lucky escape there are some bas   about  .

For me the alarm was raised when the DPF started doing odd things (regen every journey) and someone made an offhand remark about it potentially having higher mileage. Then a Google search on the reg plate showed a previous advert for it (on cazana.com btw - free to register) when it was sold with over 150k miles on it, and then the later advert showing 55k miles! Then I did a google image search for "skoda vrs estate taxi", and actually found the image of my car used as a taxi by a firm in Staffs! You could even see where the taxi plate had been on the rear doors.

 

So anyway I presented this evidence to the company I bought it off and said "full refund please", which they couldn't refuse really.

 

New one is even better than the first, so really chuffed

Did you not get one of these vehicle checks done?

Always a good idea, even from a dealer.

Car looks great (2nd one) although the black grille looks better imo

Yeah the dealer did a HPI check, and I got another HPI check from somewhere else, but there was never any mileage recorded anywhere, so nothing came up in the HPI check. The dealer said "Skoda will have the service history" but when I asked them they had nothing - that was another alarm bell !

 

Black grille does look better - can't argue with that.. But .. can I be arsed?

Getting back to that first one, taxi firms must be really upping their game if they’re shelling out for VRSs to ferry people about.
