Wing Mirror Fold

Featured Replies

Yeti SEL Drive. Wing mirrors have suddenly stopped folding when lock button applied on key fob. Does anyone know a quick fix or is it a return to dealer job? Car is under warranty.

If you turn off a window close option in the maxidot it disables this as well apparently.

I think it may also stop working if one of the windows needs to be reset to close properly.

Thanks. All seems ok on maxidot. Tried resetting windows just in case but to no avail!

One of the windows has lost the "One Touch" function.
Find out what window it is and close it, release the switch and then hold the switch up for about 5 seconds.
The window one touch should be fixed and the mirrors will fold from the fob again.

Hi Urrell. Yup that sorted it. This had happened once before and I fixed it as you say. This time I thought I had  checked each window but must have missed one! Thanks!

(Had phoned my dealer and asked if there was a quick fix for this but he said he didn't know of any! Really worrying that)

Mine don't seem to fold at all, maybe some hidden setting needing adjusted in the maxi dot area? I always thought that they should fold in when locked!

Very difficult to edit in android!

Not all models fold mirrors. And yes, how stupid that they don't fold automatically when the lock button is pressed.

No Yeti's are fitted with auto-fold mirrors.
If your car is fitted with electric folding mirrors there will be a icon at around 8 o'clock on the mirror control, plus they will fold if you hold the lock button on the remote for more than 10 seconds, and keep it held.

I'll try that trick with the windows tomorrow but the mirrors have never folded in at all since I got the car brand new in March last year but you would assume that the L & K model should have that feature as standard but who knows!

As said above, look at the mirror control on the drivers door.

I think all L & K's get folding mirrors.

Do you realise that you have to hold the lock button for about 3 seconds when locking the car for the mirrors to fold?

Didn't realise that, it worked automatically every time I locked my mk3 Octavia. They Yeti does things a wee bit differently, that and the ability to close the wing mirrors when you're actually driving. There is a speed limiter on the Yeti and not on the Octavia, which meant that coming up a main road and turning into my very narrow gateway on the same side of the road that I could flip that switch on the Octavia and fold the mirrors in to help getting into the driveway but that doesn't really work with the Yeti as you need to be going much more slowly to get that same function to work. That function was also useful a few times on narrow country roads when large vehicles appeared at speed, folding the mirrors quickly and at any speed can be quite useful sometimes in helping you actually preserve your wing mirrors!

You fold your mirrors in when things get tight?  How do you know where you are the road? If you look in your mirrors you can see exactly where you are. Mirrors are your friends a bit like cats whiskers.

When two vehicles meet round the lanes ("other situations are available"!), surely a couple of inches between bodypanels are no help if mirrors are going to clash.  It's either fold one in (or both) or decide (if possible in a friendly way) who is going to reverse to a wider location.

Even pussycats know when to fold in their whiskers.
