Octavia vRS front disc diameter

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have mk1 octavia vRS and I need to change the front brake discs but when I removed them I saw that its diameter is biggger than its original one I thought.  What is its original diameter ? Is it 312 mm or 320 something because as you see from the pictures they are bigger than 312 mm I do not know why its happen. Is there any opinion that give me some information...

Standard size is definitely 312mm. Do you have the standard DS3 calipers? (will be cast into the outside of the caliper)

As above standard size is definitely 312mm.

Looks like you have 323mm discs which were standard size on some other models (Cupra R, maybe others). Presumably these wouldn't fit under the standard calipers so I expect you have non-standard calipers too (maybe Cupra R brembos?).

I would look up measurements for the Cupra R 323mm discs and compare them to what you have.

+1

Front discs are ventilated 312mm x 25mm Thick..... Part Number..8N0 - 615 - 301A  (£88 each Main Dealer price)

As previously mentioned standard Mk1 vRS front brake disc diameter is 312mm your do look like Seat Leon Cupra R front brake discs at 323mm. A picture of your callipers would confirm this. If they look like the picture I’ve attached then you have LCR Brembos.

Hi , thank you all for the valuable information you share with me here...well as I learned that as you said most probably its upgraded to cupra r lcr brembos...more than 3 or 4 times it has some operation with the turning machine. I am adding my car's brake discs' some more photos to get more clear and definite information about it. You can give me information about which discs I should buy then...thanls in advance...

You’ll require 323mm front brake discs as you have Seat Leon Cupra R front brake callipers. They are available on eBay at a reasonable price. Just search “Leon Cupra r Brembo brake discs”.

@bosverbee - There are 2 mega hints in those photos that those are not standard vRS calipers. They are red rather than green, and have the word "Brembo" painted on them in white. We'd have told you all this 2 weeks ago if you'd described the calipers rather than just photographing the discs!

Do you mean the discs have been skimmed/re-machined 3 or 4 times?

According to the specs I can find for 323mm Cupra R discs, the standard thickness is 28mm and the minimum thickness is 26mm. The measurement in your photo is showing ~22mm! Either they're not actually Cupra R discs, my specs are wrong or they are dangerously worn.

@vrsTom - I thought @bosverbee discs looked very worn, but didn't have the actual specification. Based on your last, I agree 100.000%!

Thanks for the information and for the other replies of this topic ;) when I try to search the discs I found that one brand which is TRW DF6011S series suit I believe...Do you offer this brand or any other brand ?

That is exactly what I am trying to say vrsTom :) The old owner of this car said me that its been re-machined 3 or 4 times and when I paid attention to this as you said I understood that they are dangerously worn... I know the thickness is under the standard size about 22mm thats also why I am trying to get the correct brake disc of it ..thanks for your attention as well ;)

Wow! Well overdue replacement then!

TRW are a decent brand. Pagid and Brembo are also good.
