@Derekmewett YMMV, but usually older than that; certainly it needs to be at least 40 for free road tax and pre-1960 to be MoT exempt. Insurers are a complete law unto themselves here and might consider a 21YO car used as a second car and doing under 2_500 miles a year for a classic policy. Why not ask the sponsor insurers in the Insurance subforum for their positions on eligablity for a classic policy?

Thanks for responding to my post, at the moment I don't have any problems getting her insured, she goes for her m o t inspection on Monday, so we'll see what happens, she is still in daily use, thank you for the information, it was much appreciated.
