Amundsen MIB - OEM SD Map Card Issue

Featured Replies

Assistance required please.

I very recently imported my 2015 Yeti from Australia, and have purchased a brand new OEM Europe Maps SD Card.

I removed the AUS Map Card and inserted the brand new Europe Map Card expecting it to load up the Europe maps. But no such luck, it briefly comes up with data on SD Card message and then states Insert SD Card with Map Data.

why won’t the OEM Card work, am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks for any help on this matter, it is appreciated.

As far as I understand each card is coded to that specific car, so I would have thought you needed to over-write the info on the Aussie card.
Where did you buy the EU card from?

Hi thanks for your feedback. I bought it off eBay and it was in a sealed OEM Skoda Factory DVD style case. So it was unused and brand new.

Contrary to the above, the cards are not coded to a specific car. I have a boxful here which all work in any unit I try them in. What's the part number of your original card and also the part number of the new card?

But as said, try downloading the maps (for free) and copy them to your existing card.

Could have sworn that was what we were told in the past.

That should work. but would it point to the Australian maps update because of the VIN?

I would put it down to a damaged card but more likely a knock off of a Skoda genuine card that will not work.

Hi thanks for coming back on this matter . I don’t have access to my AUS SD Card (its on its way over to the UK at the moment). The number on the Europe SD Card is as the attached photo. C762A924-DDFC-41DE-BB21-495314947972.thumb.jpeg.69dc2e264a8aaea2d2c8c2887995702e.jpeg

Hi Urrell, Pretty certain it is a genuine Card. Thanks.

Amundsen + is/was locked to the radio on first boot, the advice was to always buy new ones, not used as they usually didn't work.

Maybe vendors trying to boost their own sales!

Yes, the Amundsen + locked the card to the unit on first use. Not so on the MIB media Amundsen though.

Part number is correct for the unit, as long as your unit looks like this...

and not like this...

Hi, Thanks for the information. Yes my unit is the Top Picture above, so from what you are saying it should just work.

Also yes, when I try the Skoda Update Portal it just shows AUS maps.

I will try to PM you shortly.
