Remap

Featured Replies

Hi people ive juat signed up. Iam now the proud owner of a mkII octavia 170Cr fl. I was just wondering how safe it is to actually map. I have been quoted 210-215 bhp and around 420 nm. How much stress would it actually put on the car thanks again

There's a lot of remap threads but the general consensus is that you'll be perfectly fine and will definitely notice the benefit too.

Most maps add approx 30HBP to the std figures (so 200ish in your case) some sellers will claim big numbers to get your business, but IMHO for road use you are better getting a smooth map, this way it will drive as smooth as it left the factory, BUT with the added torque and power when needed.

Having owned a car with a bad map on (Quantum tuning in my case) personally I think it ruined the car... yes it was quicker than std but the delivery was quite harsh, this is not going to do anything in the drivetrain ANY favours at all, I removed the map and it drove silky smooth again (well for a PD :D ) then had a smooth remap put on, the result was the extra power I had before but with the smoothness of the std map.

I have had 3 CR Skodas mapped by Shark and I have nothing but praise for them and their product.
